blockgroups reworked

thanks to a xarigami user suggestion

Blockgroups were reworked with the block privilege centralization of modules in the Blocks module, along with the privileges for the Block module itself.

Now thanks to the logging of xarigami issue xgami-000158 we have reworked Blockgroups a little more. Now you can:

  • Create blockgroup privileges by name, not gid, making it more useable for creation of blockgroup privileges.
  • Allow your site users to edit one or more blockgroups - no longer are you restricted to just 'Admin' of blockgroups.

One of the good aspects is it highlights the easy upgrade thanks to our xarigami rework of the upgrade process for all core modules.

  1. Remove existing blockgroup privileges (if you have any ... I doubt it as there was no real purpose before this)
  2. Update your xarigami core files (you only need the new Xarigami Blocks module) - just ensure the Blocks module files are replaced.
  3. Fire up your site and log in as admin, go to the Modules listing
  4. Check you have Blocks version 1.1.0 - if so you're set (if not - please report an issue in the Xarigami Core Issue Tracker!).

That's it, you can start playing with blockgroup privileges for your user groups.
