We have finished the first phase of Xaraya theme and module code cleanup. Legacy functions in code are gone, and the themes administration area has had major bug fixes to theme preview, theme listing and theme regeneration areas.

We are now moving on to phase two of theme and module rework which will involve some major new features planned in the themes area. Of these changes, the major ones will bring the ability:

• of theme creators to make more portable themes resulting in easier upgrades and maintenance, and distribution
• site administrators will be able to change key theme variables and css for a specific theme from the admin gui (in supported themes)

We're looking forward to getting some of these changes into Cumulus release. The theme variables changes require some new standards in themes.

All current changes are propagated to Cirrus development branch where the theme changes will be finalized and the theme name vs directory name problem will be put to rest.
