We've started September 09 off with finalisation of a number of key areas in the core and modules. The following summarises previously reported and new work carried out in August:
- Xarigami Core was updated in August as previously reported for php 5.3 with replacement of functions marked for deprecation in 5.3 and removal at php 6.0
- Finalised the sprite css rework throughout core, and modules, and addition of the icons used to build the sprite maps to core as well for use where required. In some cases, the images have been directly added to modules where these are distributed for xaraya and xarigami use, at least until the user base has updated their core and has all the required icons
- Consistency in menus with new CSS throughout core and key modules in the xarigami module repository. Note that there are now a range of modules added to the xarigami monotone database (see xarigami monotone db and branch reference)
- phpmailer was updated to the latest php5/6 code and adjusted for xarigami requirements. The change was accompanied by addition of a full page of testing features for mail in the administration area, as well as audit and final testing of all the latest scheduler, throttle, queue and anti-spam features added to the mail module
- Accessibility issues related to javascript in core - graceful degradation in all key pages when javascript is turned off
- Bug fixes for page caching (thanks Naptha for highlighting), fixes for floatbox (thanks to Lakys)
- xarCacheManager updated for xarigami core, bug fixes, reworked menus
- Key modules such as Articles, Categories, Xarpages, Registration and so on all checked and reworked where appropriately for php 5.3, with bug fixes along the way
- Messages module enhanced with new features and major bugs fixed, thanks to all for the testing and feedback, special thanks to roller24.
- Tinymce beta 3.0.0 tested, and now reworked ready for final release - thanks to all for testing and feedback
We will be focusing more on the cirrus branch in the coming month, along with the dynamic data enhancements. Note that there is support for HTML5 in xarigami core and a new HTML5 default theme is underway.
Thanks to everyone for their continued support. Bug fixes, issue reports and suggestions most welcome. Please contact us if you would like to contribute either by direct monotone commits or patches.
