xarigami news

It's been a busy September 2008 with xaraya development here at xarigami.com.

There have been a number of new and updated xaraya modules that you can checkout at the xarigami demo site including:

• bbcode
• html
• comments
• akismet
• dphighlight
• xatinymce

Development on core and related core modules has been going on mostly in the background with a focus on bug fixing and improvements (check out the core issue page). A key area of work has been on rework and consolidation of xaraya variables. This area needs to be finalized before we continue further on a number of special features including the admin GUI for theme variables (or their equivalent), and planned improvements on user experience (with user vars or equivalent) and hook configurations per module itemtype in modules.

A special thanks to everyone that has offered feedback on one aspect or another. The most effective place to offer the feedback is on the discussion page for each individual project, or via feature requests and bug reports in the issue tracker.  This also gives others an opportunity to respond or join in, and saves some work going through my email box, or time on IRC :) Nevertheless it is much appreciated and will go towards improving these modules for the community.

We also have some exciting new modules currently under development, that will be announced further along this month.

Other ongoing activities have focused on further improvements to our revamped build system that we put in place a few months back. We've been redoing the monotone databases with some branch renames, and this now means the system should be coming online this month. For our xarigami members it means access to weekly builds of modules, themes and core xarigami. Our developer members will also be welcome to provide patches and/or direct commits to our monotone repositories.
