This is a major release offering a complete rewrite of the code, and new functionality.

xarTinyMCE was one of the first modules based on the Moxiecode Systems AB TinyMCE wysiwyg application. Now, many years later the original upstream TinyMCE project has had at least two major rewrites. In doing so it introduced many new features over its original form such as multiple configurations and layout customizations to name a few. xarTinyMCE has now been updated to better reflect these changes and allow more flexibility in its use.

This version:

• incorporates the upstream project code to version 3.2.6 which covers a number of major bug fixes and improvements.
• full code rewrite
• better performance
• multiple configurations can be easily defined, edited and used
• all configuration options are available
• new user interface

The version addresses the following issues:

Requirements

• Xaraya Core 1.1.5 or Xarigami Core 1.1.6 and above
• Xaraya or Xarigami HTML module

Xaraya sites may find some loss of functionality where there are multiple configurations required on the same page. This is due to differences between some related Xaraya and Xarigami core and core module functions.

Some modules will only allow limited HTML on content display. The HTML module is required to enable some HTML tags and their attributes in your site in these modules.

Install and upgrade

xarTinyMCE 3.0.0 is not backward compatible with prior versions. Please uninstall xartinymce from your module listing prior to installing the new version.

Remove any prior version files from your modules directory in modules/tinymce.

Extract the zip or tar.gz file rename the folder from tinymce3.0.0 to tinymce and add this to your site's modules directory.

Regenerate your module listing and click on install to install and activate the module.

The official 3.0.0 version zip file is avaiable from this page. Latest developer snapshots as zip and tar.gz files are also available from the xarigami dev snapshot area.

For those with access to monotone, the version 3.0.0 code has been propagated from the com.2skies.xarigami.modules.tinymce.dev branch to the com.2skies.xarigami.modules.tinymce branch. Please use the tinymce branch proper for latest code and any commits you wish to make on the 3.0.0 branch.

Known issues

IBrowser and IManager modules created for xarTinyMCE and available from this site are still compatible with this version of xarTinyMCE and can be used for image browsing and manipulation.

The filebrowser included in prior versions of xarTinyMCE is no longer compatible in this version. There are now other filebrowsers available on the internet that could be integrated via the file browser callback function in tinymce.
